Nestled southwest of Lake Mendota, Madison’s growing west side is bounded to the north by Middleton and to the south by Verona. Best yet, it’s a short drive from downtown nightlife and culture. West siders love the lush landscape, expansive parks, golf courses, restaurants, and shopping options the neighborhood offers.

Starting in 1990, Madison experienced an economic boom that led to rapid expansion on the west and south sides. Thanks to this growth, young professionals and families put down roots and cultivated warm, welcoming communities. UW-Madison grads and faculty continue to settle in areas near the university like the Vilas neighborhood, where youthful energy and good taste are found in equal measure.
