HISTORY
In 1838, three men staked out claims in the area that would become Sauk City. From 1840 through 1860, the population boomed to accommodate the wheat and hops farming industries. Culver’s, the beloved Wisconsin restaurant chain, was founded in Sauk City in 1984.
SCHOOLS
Sauk City is part of the Sauk Prairie School District, which includes four elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. Niche.com gives the district a B rating, with top grades in teachers and health & safety.
